What started out as a styled shoot to showcase old world meets modern day, turned into a tribute to my family and specifically my late mother who passed away just about a year ago. Also, in just a few days it (what would have been) my parents 64th wedding anniversary and it just seems like the right time to post this tribute.
Some of the highlights of the day are:
My mother’s wedding china and flatware, her modern flutes she loved. Vintage Swedish crystal and dining chairs, a gift to us from my husband’s parents. My wedding dress, that we altered to fit with a more modern look. Of course our bride for the day, my daughter, Kirsten. For the record she is not married or engaged.
My vision was born from vessels I bought from @ohflorastore.
Making table meadows was the goal. Looking out to see what was available the vision came to life to blend modern day vessels with an old world flower that’s been around for centuries, queen ann's lace or wild carrot.
I couldn’t have captured the moment without the talented Siobhan of Maine Tinker photography. Thank you Siobhan for everything, It turned out to be more than just a styled shoot. It was a trip down memory lane that led me here to my yard and my work with flowers to tell stories of love, grace, and celebrations of all kinds.
I love and miss you Mom, This is for you, I hope you like it.
